Chelsea midfielder and Super Eagles
star, Mikel Obi, has finally joined the league of records label owners
in Nigeria. He has just floated MMM Records & Entertainment and
installed his sibling, Tochukwu, as the manager.
MMM Records will have branches in
London, Lagos and Jos. Mikel’s other passion, apart from soccer, is
music. His resolve to establish the record label was gingered by the
success recorded by the new generation of Nigerian artistes, especially
his longtime friends from Jos like P-Square, and D’Banj, Naeto C, Tuface
Idibia, Wizkid and others.
Tochukwu is the last child of the family
and a graduate of Cambridge University. However, the artistes signed or
to be signed on the label are yet to be made public.
As expected, some known and relatively
unknown recording artistes in Nigeria are already queuing behind
Tochukwu, praying to be signed to MMM Records.
